Anticipation builds, ready to burst.
The nervous actors subdue racing minds,
Becoming characters, the best and worst
Revealing what’s behind their simple rinds.

The stage their canvas, ready for painting
With deep struggles, unbeknownst to viewers,
Through emotional songs, moves, and rantings.
Messages defined by their portrayer.

Oh lives not lived, but felt with great passion.
Stories not told, but heard with open ears.
Oh such great troubles, though from not to run,
But to embrace and share through others’ tears.

Whether fictional or real, through the arts,
Actors understand people’s burdened hearts.

I wrote this for L.A. class, and yes, it is in iambic pentameter, has the proper rhyme scheme, and is 14 lines and everything that it needs to be an Elizabethan Sonnet. The iambic pentameter may be a little off, but I did my best. And yes, I did use a few slant rhymes, but they are acceptable.

beautiful! It should be told on stage.. in a play maybe, about a young actress or something.. (sorry, I'm a dreamer.)

Thank you!!! but the problem now is that I have not done any drawings recently! Argh! Life is too busy.
